The Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis (in short, Principia) is a book published in 1687 by Isaac Newton. It contains the statement of Newton's Universal Gravitation Theory and other scientific results in the physical sciences, and it is probably the most influential scientific book ever published, since it gave a systematic foundation to both Physics (in particular, Mechanics) and Astronomy.
