Overview
Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is a co-educational institute which was established in 1967. It is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The college is named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, an Indian freedom fighter who believed strongly in social justice. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is considered as one of the best colleges that provide education in the field of Commerce and Arts.
The college was ranked at number 17 for the best Commerce colleges in India in 2012 as per India Today Survey group.University Express ranked it at number 5 among all the Delhi university colleges, giving its faculty a full 10/10 score.[1] The college offers both Graduate Degrees and Postgraduate Degrees. At the undergraduate level it offers 4 Year degrees in Commerce, English, Economics, Hindi, History, Geography, Political Science and Mathematics. At the postgraduate level it offers a M.Com degree. Dr. PK Khurana is the Principal/OSD of the college and Mr. Arun Kumar Attree is the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the college under RTI Act 2005. The college was rocked by fake admissions scam in 2014 when the Chief coordinator of the Admissions, Arun Kumar Attree caught the impersonation and fake certificate cases and exposed the fake admission racket existing in the college. The college is appreciated for being the first college in University to investigate the matter suo motto and taking action by cancelling admission of 36 students of year 2013-14 and 2012-13. Consequently the college made the admission procedure very stringent in 2014-15.

In order to ensure holistic development of its students the college has arrangements for various sports and games like Cricket, Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Kho - Kho, Athletics, Gymnastics, Carrom and Chess. The college can boast of the best Cricket Ground in the whole of South Delhi. Basket Ball and Lawn Tennis Synthetic Courts meeting international standards have been newly constructed.
Lawns & Gardens
The college has well developed gardens which provide a lush green look to the campus. It also maintains greenery for ecological balance and aesthetic look.Beautiful lawns with blossoming flowers all around the campus present an exquisite view.
Library and Laboratories
The college has a state of the art fully computerized library,which contains a huge collection of books from all over the world.Any book that is required by any student can be found here.The large collection of periodicals and journals helps the students immensely. The College has multiple computer labs, geography lab,maths lab.It is also proposed to have ICT enabled class rooms.

The institution having acquired a position of excellence in academics has been effectively providing students enough resources and training to achieve in the fields of sports, debates, drama, fine arts and music. They provide a platform for nurturing talent by stimulating the students to pursue excellence and develop their skills to think critically and analytically. Learning methods are supported by lectures, seminars, workshops and high quality presentations and conferences to educate the students by creating suitable academic environment to grow. The College has its backbone, quality and dedicated faculty supported by excellent infrastructure, the teaching laboratories, research centres, participative method of learning and teaching. Innovative teaching strategies are practiced keeping in view the personal requirements of the students. All this is supported by project work, case studies, field work, educational tours and career oriented programmes.
SBSC, a forward looking college, offers students a dynamic environment for the overall development of their personalities, aspirations and talents. The college is not just an academic fire-wall, extra-curricular activities are pursued with equal vigour. Activities are organized to provide opportunity for the expression of profound ideas and nurture their talent in the field of culture and sports.Fun-filled activities and events are organized through cultural and academic festivals like Moments, Udhyam, and Vasundhra. The college also provides its students free internet for e-resource over WiFi. This service is limited to the college campus.
Placements
Placement Cell of the College has a remarkable record. The students have been placed in companies like Genpact, India Bulls, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Ernst & Young, global shared services etc. There is a continuous process of developing alliance with potential recruiters and inviting them to the college to provide them high quality human capital. College is equipping the students to learn about entrepreneurial and managerial skills to operate in challenging business environment. Placement Cell organizes pre-placement presentations by recruiting organizations which is followed by the actual recruitment process.

The college is a part of the South Campus and is located at Sheikh Sarai Phase II. Malviya Nagar Metro station is the closest to the college(10 min ride).The students can be found hanging out at the Select City Walk Mall,Saket which is Delhi's biggest mall and is a stone's throw away from the college.Nearby areas include Greater Kailash and Hauz Khas,all beaming with great outlets and fun hangouts.
