This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). - Comment: Being inducted as a Knight Bachelor is not a sufficient argument as to why the individual is notable. Neither is being the Chairman of the Coles Board. Dan arndt (talk) 04:14, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Sir Thomas Lindsay North (11 December 1919 – 29 November 2015) was made a Knight Bachelor by Queen Elizabeth for services to retail in 1981.[1]
Sir Thomas was described as a person of note born in Rutherglen in the history of Rutherglen[2], Victoria and worked for the Australian retailer now known as Coles Group for 46 years and was general manager and director 1968–1973, managing director 1975–1979 and chairman of the board 1979-1983. He was the first non-Coles family member to hold these positions. [3]
