ISO-SEC (legal firm name: International Security Organization, ISO KLG) is a local SWISS education provider that trains, evaluates, and registers private and governmental organizations, persons, products, and services on security, cybersecurity, intelligence, law enforcement, forensics, criminal investigations and emergency management.[1]

ISO-SEC are members of SVEB (Swiss Federation for Adult Learning), which is an umbrella organization for adult education.

History

ISO-SEC, is the commercial name of the International Security Organization - ISO KLG. ISO-SEC is officially registered as a local Swiss company in the Swiss registry [2] and founded in the summer of 2017 by Dr. Nikolaos Fokianos [3]].

ISO-SEC Switzerland is a non-governmental Swiss Further Education and Accreditations Organization, aiming to educate security, law enforcement, military and intelligence operatives. Since its foundation, it has educated thousands of security, law enforcement, military, and intelligence operatives, from all levels and ranks. ISO-SEC's professional education program attendees are from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the USA.

On March 19, 2019, the Association of Municipalities of the Island of São Miguel (AMISM) posted an article about the municipality of Ribeira Grande hosting an Emergency Management Training in collaboration with ISO-SEC [4]. The training was held between March 22 and April 28, 2019.

On April 29, 2019, ISO-SEC Certified the Municipal Authority of Ribeira Grande, which was the first municipality in the Azores to receive ISO-SEC certification,[5] for their efforts and excellent results in Civil Protection Services.

On December 22, 2022, during a ceremony organized by the ISO-SEC Awards Division, the Security Academy Awards [6] honored the Head of the Nigerian Department of State Services (DSS), His Excellency DGSS Alhaji YM Bichi CFR,[7] with the ISO-SEC Distinguished Security Service Award. The award was received on his behalf by the DSS Public Relations Officer, Dr. Peter Afunanya, who expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing DGSS for this prestigious honor, as noted on the DSS official website.

ISO-SEC’s copyrighted programs, such as the CINTA (Certified Intelligence Analyst), are officially recognized as professional credentials by governmental organizations. For example, ZINARA [8](Zimbabwe National Road Administration) includes CINTA among the required qualifications for the position of Risk and Loss Controller[9].

In September 2024, the ″ISO-SEC College of Professional Studies″ in Nigeria, signed a partnership with the Metropolitan School of Business & Management or MSBM (a UK College), to provide in collaboration professional and Academic Studies. [10]

Awards and certifications

ISO-SEC is not only an education provider but also the organization that established the Security Academy Awards. Among the notable recipients of ISO-SEC awards are: Ribeira Grande, the first municipality in the Azores to achieve ISO-SEC, Switzerland certification for its municipal civil protection services, received the certificate following the conclusion of the High Degree in Emergency Management, held between March and April, 2019.[11][1]

22nd December 2022, the Director General, Department of State Services (DSS), Alhaji YM Bichi CFR, was honored with the DISTINGUISHED SECURITY SERVICE AWARD by ISO-SEC at the end of its international conference themed: THREATS TO SECURITY: A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE which held at Zurich, Switzerland[12].[13]
