English: 525th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron - North American F-86D-35-NA Sabre - 51-8377. Probably at Landstuhl Air Base (later Ramstein Air Base), Germany, 1954. 525th FIS deployed at Giebelstadt Air Base, Germany, 20 May – 3 August 1951 with Republic F-84E/G Thunderjets.
Deutsch: North American F-86D-35-NA Sabre (FU-377, s/n 51-8377) des 525th FIS (Fighter-Interceptor Squadron), 86th FIW (Fighter-Interceptor Wing), 1954; Foto vermutlich in Landstuhl Air Base, später Ramstein Air Base, Rheinland-Pfalz.

Die 525th Fighter Squadron war vom 12. Juni 1947 bis 9. August 1952 in Neubiberg Air Base bei München mit Republic P/F-47 Thunderbolts stationiert, die ab 1950 durch Republic F-84E/G Thunderjets ersetzt wurden. Mitte des Jahres 1951 erfolgte eine Abstellung der in 525th Fighter-Bomber Squadron umbenannten Staffel auf den Flugplatz Giebelstadt Air Base mit (vermutlich Staffelstärke) 10-15 F-84E/G für Schul- u. Einweisungsflüge vom 20. Mai bis 3. August 1951. Ab 14. April 1953 wurde zunächst die North American F-86F Sabre eingeführt, diese wurde ab August 1954 durch die allwettertaugliche F-86D "Sabre Dog" mit "Radarnase" ersetzt.

Im Mai 1960 war in Giebelstadt die F-86D "Sabre Dog" (FU-229, s/n 51-6229) der 526th FIS, 86th FIW anwesend. Ausserdem ist im Mai des Jahres 1958 für Giebelstadt die statische Vorführung einer F-86D (FU-296, s/n 52-4296) der 512nd FIS, 86th FIW aus Sembach AB (Rheinland-Pfalz) fotographisch nachgewiesen.
