Summary

Description
English: The image shows the top surface of 6061-T6 aluminum 12.6mm thick plate which has been polished using colloidal silica and etched for 55s using Keller's reagent. The acids in the etchant have preferentially attacked material at the grain boundaries and secondary phases and inclusions such as Mg2Si and insoluble Fe3SiAl12or (Fe, Mn, Cr)3SiAl12 .
