Description
English: Vernon Jordan and Alfred Eisenstaedt sharing time on Martha's Vineyard at a social gathering.
  • Eisenstaedt commended Jordan for his efforts in assisting President Clinton. At the time of this photograph, Jordan was visiting with President Clinton. Besides talking about matters of consequence, such as the Monica Lewinsky affair, with which Jordan became legally involved — Vernon Jordan also attended various island functions with President Clinton.
  • President Clinton and Vernon Jordan often played golf together. While Jordan was on the Vineyard, he and the President shared a few rounds at a couple of island courses. This fact was not lost to Eisenstaedt, who, with a smile, asked Jordan, "When you play golf with the President, do you let him win?" Eisie's question elicited a boisterous laugh from Jordan as well as everyone who was within hearing distance.
