Purpose of use

To depict the St. Philip Neri Church, the site of the August 13, 2006 St. Philip Neri Church shelling

Replaceable?

No. Due to the St. Philip Neri Church shelling, much of the building has been reduced to rubble (source). Since the shelling, the church and the surrounding area have been abandoned, with most or all residents evacuated (source). Considering the strategic location of Allaipiddy village and the presence of both Sri Lankan government and LTTE forces in the area, the area may not be reasonably accessible. For instance, subsequent to the bombing, the area was sealed off and placed under curfew (source). In addition, given the circumstances of the ongoing Sri Lankan civil war, an attempt to take a photo of the building's remains (with the intention of releasing it under a free license) is difficult or impossible without jeopardising one's personal health and safety.
