DescriptionApedale Valley Light Railway - about to couple up (geograph 5842542).jpg
English: Apedale Valley Light Railway - about to couple up.
This 2' gauge steam locomotive is about to couple onto the passenger train set for the short trip along the line. Admission to Tracks to the Trenches included one free round trip. The locomotive is 0-6-0WTOC built by Hudswell Clarke as No. 1238 of 1916 but is plated as Robert Hudson who had placed the order. Although this class was used in WWI, this particular example was supplied to the Ashanti Goldfield Corporation and worked near Akrofuom. Its working life ended in 1952 when it fell into a river, killing its driver and was abandoned.
