Summary

Description

The long blocks between 9th and 10th, L and O streets NW just west of the convention center in Shaw, have a series of alleys which retain the houses in front, stables/workshops in back arrangement that prevailed in many 19th century Washington neighborhoods. This particular alley has lately sprouted art studios and a few daring restaurants, namely Rogue 24 and SunDeVich.

Although the convention center was built with retail frontage along 9th St, these alleys' humane proportions and weathered brick certainly look much more enticing.
