Summary

Description
English: One month old castor bean sprouted from seed indoors. The first leaves produced by the plant are round, completely unlike all subsequent leaves which are severely serrated. This picture is taken during the brief period when the round leaves are still present and the first serrated leaves have appeared. The first leaves of a plant are colloquially referred to as its "teething" leaves.
