This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Wikipedia's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Wikipedia's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Wikipedia should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Wikipedia's copyright policy.
In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail. Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=30 October 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle). |
This file may fail Wikipedia's first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image might reasonably be found or created that adequately provides the same information, or which could be adequately covered with text alone because: Unless it is determined to be irreplaceable, the file will be deleted after Thursday, 31 October 2024. Please do not remove this tag. This individual is, to my ability to find, still alive, so a free photo of him could be taken. His involvement in the UFO incident is clearly described by text, so an image of that is not necessary for the reader to understand that aspect.. Note : if you believe that a free replacement image cannot be reasonably found or created please add one of the following without removing this tag: {{di-replaceable non-free use disputed|Your reason that a free replacement can not be found or created}} Administrators: Ensure the claim of replaceability is sound and not legitimately disputed before deleting this file. |
The previous revision(s) of this file are non-free and are no longer being used in articles. Therefore, they fail the Wikipedia non-free content criteria and will be deleted on November 5, 2024. The current revision will not be deleted, only the previous revision(s). Administrators: If there are no problems with the current revision, and it meets the non-free content criteria, please delete the previous revision(s) under F5 on November 5, 2024 (seven days after October 29, 2024, when this template was added). Otherwise, please revert the file back to the last acceptable revision. Once you're done, remove this tag. Use "change visibility", checking only the "Delete file content" option, in order to preserve the upload history in the "File history" section. |

It is disputed whether this file violates our non-free content criteria. The reason given is: <This image is ireplacable as it is absolutley key to the whole Calvine UFO story because it shows Mr Craig Lindsay WITH his copy of the ONLY original Calvine photo at the moment he first revealed it to the world finally confirming what had previously only been rumours of a sighting as is dicussed in the article text. There is no free alternate image showing Lindsay with the Calvine Photograph available, and given that the print is now held in an archive, future photographs will not be possible. The copyright holder of this image has given permission for the image to be used in this way but will not revoke his copyright for free use.> Closing administrator: if the decision is to Keep the file please put {{Old replaceable non-free use}} on the file description page. If the decision is to Delete please archive the discussion on the talk page between {{subst:Archive top}} and {{subst:Archive bottom}} and delete the file page. |

[edit]This image is a faithful digitisation of a unique historic image, and the copyright for it is most likely held by the person who created the image or the agency employing the person. It is believed that the use of this image may qualify as non-free use under the Copyright law of the United States.
