This inscription refers to the place Bangulura which was first known as Bangalore Name.
An inscription recorded in the Mysore Archaeological Report 1915.
it is known that Buttanapati, son of Nagattar, an official of Begur region, and Pervvonashetti, heroes of the house, died in the battle of BENGALURA. The word "Bangalore" can be identified from the first four letters of the fourth line of this inscription. Currently this inscription is preserved in the premises of Panchalingeshwar temple in Begur.
