Summary

Description
English: This is one of the fields in Ranscombe Farm, Cuxton, Kent, where the River Medway cuts through the North Downs. The soil varies from pure chalk, to the covering Wealden Clays, producing a habitat that has been visited by plant collectors since 1699. In the distance is the Medway Viaduct, and the rails of the Chatham Main Line can be seen at the field edge. The village is Cuxton. Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) in the foreground.
