Summary

Description
Deutsch: Gemälde aus einer Serie mit Darstellungen von Besitztümern des Hochstifts Freising im Fürstengang zwischen Fürstbischöflicher Residenz und Freisinger Dom.
English: View of Garmisch, now Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria. Part of a series of 32 paintings executed by Valentin Gappnigg between 1698 and 1702. Gappnigg had been commissioned by the prince-bishop of Freising, Johann Franz Eckher von Kapfing und Liechteneck, to paint views of the various possessions of the prince-bishopric. While the core territories of Freising were located in Bavaria, it also included several far-flung enclaves located inside Tyrol, Styria, Carinthia, Lower Austria and Carniola (now Slovenia).
