| Description |
English: Two U.S. Air Force Convair F-106A Delta Dart fighters of the 49th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado (USA), in 1970. The 49th was based at Griffiss AFB, New York (USA). The aircraft in front, s/n 59-0083 (c/n 8-24-212) was retired to the MASDC as FN0035 on February 1984. It was later converted to an QF-106A (AD143) and shot down by an AIM-120 on 18 May 1993. The F-106A s/n 59-0072 (c/n 8-24-201) on the right was retired to the MASDC as FN0094 on 18 July 1985. It was also converted to an QF-106A (AD123) and expended on 4 May 1994. In the background is a McDonnell F-101B Voodoo. |
