Summary

Description
English: This plot is showing the 1/e-drop for the electromagnetic solution of the evanescent wave in wavelengths. n_1 is the refractive index of the medium the wave is propagating in. n_2 is the refractive index of the medium in which the evanescent wave decays exponentially. This plot is an update of Kondephy's work.
