DescriptionFirst domed car in rail service Vista Dome Burlington 1945.jpg
Ad for the Burlington Route announcing its first domed coach car, "Vista Dome". The ad went on to say that the car was in operation and was switched between various Burlington train routes to be able to judge passenger reaction to it. The railroad continued, saying that if the traveling public liked the car, they planned to build a fleet of domed passenger cars and to place them in service regularly on many of their train routes.
