Description
English: The 'French Petition' to King Richard III was a petition from the University College, Oxford, asking for a certain property case to be seen before the King's Council. In appealing to the young richard's sense of family history, it became the source of the oft-repeated myth (at least before the 19th-century) of university college's founding by King Alfred.
