Утверждён решением тринадцатой сессии Совета депутатов Искитимского района Новосибирской области первого созыва от 20 апреля 2006 года № 89 «Об утверждении герба Искитимского района». Внесён в Государственный геральдический регистр Российской Федерации за №2368.
