English: Guildhall Coat of Arms. The motto translates from Latin as 'Faithful city in war and peace'. It celebrates that Worcester was a strong adherent to the Stuart cause in the Civil War. The first skirmish took place nearby at Powick Bridge and the end of the conflict was the Royalist defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
