THE NEW JERSEY LEGISLATURE WOULD NOT GIVE HIM A CHARTER TO EXPAND HIS SCHOOL INTO A COLLEGE SO HE MOVED TO RHODE ISLAND WHERE HE RECEIVED MORE ENCOURAGEMENT AND UTIMATELY FOUNDED A COLLEGE WHICH BECAME BROWN UNIVERSITY. TWO OF HIS ALUMINI ALSO WENT TO RHODE ISLAND AND HELPED DEVELOP BROWN UNIVERSITY |

THIS IS THE MOST HISTORIC SITE I FOUND IN HOPEWELL AND ASS YOU CAN READ THE SIGN ONLY TELLS PART OF THE STORY. ISAAC EATON WAS THE PASTOR AND LIVED IN THIS PARSONAGE. THESE 2 PICTURES WOULD SEEM TO BE WORTHY ADDITIONS TO WIKIPEDIA'S ARTICLE ON HOPEWELL
