Description
English: La Bâtie Beauregard The hill where the medieveal castle of Bâtie-Beauregard - also known as Bâtie-Champion or Bâtie-sur-Versoix - used to stand, overlooking the River Versoix in the area of Vieille-Bâtie in what is now the municipality of Collex-Bossy in the Swiss canton of Geneva. First mentioned in documents for the year 1299 when the castle was owned by the lords of Gex. It was conquered in 1589 by Geneva and was demolished in the following year.
