English: This image depicts the structure of the trioctahedral sheet of a mica. The size of the cations (blue) has been exaggerated and the oxygen or hydroxyl radicals reduced to better depict the trioctahedral sites. The white spheres are apical oxygens and the red are hydroxyl. This is the brucite structure except for the substitution of apical oxygen for hydroxyl.
