English: New Garrion Bridge 2001 - A71 The new Garrion Bridge build in 2001 to reduce the traffic build up created by having only one bridge operated by traffic lights. This bridge opened to the general public on 31st January 2002. The whole project cost £6.6 million from South Lanarkshire's budget, and operates in conjunction with the Old Garrion Bridge using a 'roundabout' system with both bridges.
