DescriptionNorwegian Chapel, St Mary-le-Bow, London.jpg
English: Norwegian Chapel, St Mary-le-Bow, London. Bronze of St George and the Dragon.
"This place in the restored church of St. Mary-le-Bow is sacred to the memory of the Norwegians who died in the resistance to the tyranny of Nazism in the years 1940-45.
The bronze relief, by Ragnhild Butenschon, was given by the people of Norway for whom the sound of Bow Bells broadcast throughout Europe was a symbol of hope during the Nazi occupation.
The sculpture was unveiled by his majesty King Olav V of Norway and dedicated by the Lord Bishop of London on March 25th 1966."
