Description Austin Six taxi in Covent Garden, London. Complete with trumpet horn and driver's-side luggage space and 'for hire' indicator.
DVLA first registered 1982, manufactured 1934, 1948 cc

This vehicle is sometimes displayed bearing this sign:
1934 London Style Taxi
Wooden Framed "Low Loader" (LL) type body by Jones Bros of Chiswick
The only 6 cylinder version known to exist with subtle differences to the similar body of the common 4 cylinder model in order to accommodate the larger engine.
Has no doubt covered many thousands of miles, there is no odometer to tell you!
No fuel gauge!
Air conditioning as standard for the driver for all seasons—note the open cab
Heating as standard for the drive all year round—from the engine
No heating for the passengers
Rear hood can be lowered on sunny days
Sedate at 25 mph
Comfortable at 30mph
But a joy to own and drive

Now used for weddings and special occasions and known as 'Thomas".
