The Montreal Gazette, May 8, 1936, notes that Fred Nogami, born in Port Haney, B.C., was sentenced to 10 months in prison for rioting and for the assault of Constable G. S. Craig of the RCMP. Sentences were stayed for Mike Maties (Dana, Sask.); Mike Zaharuk (Saskatoon); Tony Costello (Nelson, B.C.), Arthur Wells (Biggar, Sask); James Harding (Calgary); and J. L. Smith (Vancouver, B.C.).[1]
