La Real y Militar Orden de San Hermenegildo, como «Orden Militar», tiene la potestad de utilización de escudos representativos de los diversos estamentos de la misma. 1. Escudo de la Orden.

Escudo de contorno circular. En campo de azur, efigie de San Hermenegildo montado en caballo galopando a la siniestra con una palma en la mano diestra, todo de oro, terrazado de lo mismo. Bordura de esmalte blanco con la inscripción en oro: REAL Y MILITAR ORDEN DE SAN HERMENEGILDO. Este escudo llevará como adornos exteriores dos ramas de laurel de sinople, frutadas de gules, unidas por sus troncos y liadas.
