A Consolidated PB2Y-5R Coronado of taking off. The photo was published in April 1943.

Original description: "The Coronado (PB2Y), a four-engine flying boat built for the U.S. Navy, is also used by the British Coastal Command. Also a product of Consolidated Vultee, it is the largest and most powerful plane in the Navy service."
