Object history Provenance: Two identical copies of this painting were produced by Jacob van Doort. The Danish original was destroyed in the 1859 fire of Frederiksborg Castle (catalogue no. 1000), mentioned as from the Castle in Husum. This duplicate original copy was originally in the possession of the House of Nassau, located in Mauritshuis, The Hague. It was retrieved from the magazine, 1882. Probably originating from one of the House of Orange-Nassau's pleasure palaces.[1]
