English: A fusion of a rectilinear scan using I-131 rose Bengal with a chest X-ray outlining the position of the diaphragm was used to diagnose subphrenic abscess before the availability of CT scanning and ultrasound. This represented one of the first examples of “anatamometabolic” imaging.
