"Here lieth a third of the ashes of 344 cremated sacred souls, victims of the Nazis, including the remains of Schmul son of Y’Cheel Szcerkowski who was killed on the third of Nison 5765 – Mar. 17, 1945 brought here from Alem, Hanover, Germany".
Visitation stones can be seen covering the top of the headstone and the area in front of it. The headstone was placed in 1951 and refers to ashes were retrieved from Germany by the family of Schmul, who had emigrated to Savannah.
