Summary

Description A Royal Navy BAe Sea Harrier FA2 hovers above the flight deck of the flight deck of HMS Illustrious (R06) as it positions itself for landing on 25 June 2001. The aircraft belonging to 801 Naval Air Squadron was providing air support to British and U.S. units ashore during their participation in the Joint Maritime Course (JMC), the equivalent of the U.S. Navy's JTFEX with the USS Enterprise Carrier Battle Group. USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was on a six-month long deployment to the Mediterranean.
