Description
English: Tortoise plastron with divination inscription from the Shang dynasty, dating from the reign of King Wu Ding. The piece has complementary charges down the left and right sides. Cracks caused by applying a heat source to the reverse are numbered 1–6 on the left and 1–7 on the right. The outcome of the interpretation of these cracks is recorded at bottom right.
