Description
English: William Cornelius Shipman (1824-1861) was a missionary who set out to Micronesia, but stayed in Hawaii instead to raise a family. His wife was Jane Stobie; son William Herbert (1854-1943) was an important businessman on the Island of Hawaii; daughter Margaret Clarissa (1859-1891) married politician Lorrin Thurston who organized the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom; and son Oliver Taylor (1857-1942).
