English: Slowe-Burrill House - Lucy Slowe and Mary Burrill were a lesbian couple who bought this house in 1922 and lived here until Slowe's death in 1937. Both women were prominent educators in the city so they had to keep their relationship hidden. It was the third property listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C. that represented LGBTQ history.
