Deutsch: Terrakotta-Relief „Spirit of Transportation“ (deutsch in etwa: „der Geist des Verkehrswesens“).
Dieses Werk befindet sich an der Wand eines Nebenraums des Wartesaals in der 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Es symbolisiert die Entwicklung des Verkehrswesens in Gestalt eines Triumphzuges. Das Verkehrswesen selbst wird durch die Frau auf dem Triumphwagen in der Mitte dargestellt.
Das Relief befand sich ursprünglich in der Broad Street Station und wurde 1933 an seinen heutigen Platz versetzt.
English: Terra-cotta plaque “Spirit of Transportation” by Karl Bitter (1867–1915).
This plaque is located on the west wall of the waiting area of 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It depicts the evolution of transportation as a triumphal procession. “Transportation” herself is riding in a chariot in the middle.
The plaque was originally installed at Broad Street Station and was moved to the present location in 1933.
