English: Bournemouth West to Derby express at Standish Junction.
View southward, towards Bristol, Bath and Bournemouth, also Swindon. This is the important junction between the ex-Great Western main line from Cheltenham and Birmingham/Gloucester and South Wales to Swindon etc. - two tracks on the left, with the ex-Midland main line Birmingham - Gloucester - Bristol (also Bath and Bournemouth) - two tracks on the right. The Up Summer Saturday holiday express is headed by a (newly introduced) BR Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 73003; the stock seems to be ex-GWR. Standish Junction Box is seen behind the train. (Note the 'C' board in the foreground, signifying the Commencement of a temporary speed-restriction on the Down Midland line).
