Summary

Description
English: Overview of TERRA biogenesis: Promoter elements bind to the CpG islands of the subtelomeric region to recruit RNA Polymerase II, which transcribes TERRA in the 5' to 3' direction. In yeast, TERRA is degraded by Rat1. TERRA functions within the cell to modulate telomerase function, modify the heterochromatic state of chromosomes, and regulate telomere length
