Summary

Description
English: Jasper Morrison first designed the Thinking Man's Chair in 1985. The first prototype was made of metal, spray-painted red, with its dimensions added in chalk as decoration. The chair was first shown at the exhibition Savage Thrones in Japan in spring 1986. In 1987 Morrison modified it for the exhibition AD23 at the Aram showroom in London, after which Aram sold it. He modified it again for production by Italian manufacturer Cappellini in 1988. The photograph shows the version sold by Aram in 1987 and 1988.
