Description
English: Inyo tonestus (Tonestus peirsonii), single stem with its flower and broad bracts below, its toothed, oblanceolate stem leaves, and dried remains from previous years of this hardy, high-altitude perennial. This is a local plant endemic to the mountains of Inyo and Fresno counties of California, in this case at 10,400 ft (3,200 m) on the cliffs above Long Lake, Little Lakes Valley, John Muir Wilderness, Sierra Nevada USA.
