Description
English: Young boy holding a bird or small pet (now lost), probably a funeral effigy; the child's pose takes after that of Polykleitos' Doryphoros. Marble, Roman artwork, second half of the 2nd century AD. The arms, legs and wings are modern additions. From Italy.
Français : Jeune garçon tenant un oiseau ou un petit animal (disparu), probablement une effigie funéraire ; la pose est similaire à celle du Doryphore de Polyclète. Marbre, œuvre romaine, deuxième moitié du IIe siècle ap. J.-C. Les jambes, les bras et les ailes sont modernes. Provenance : Italie.
