- Exactly! There is no way to replicate this for the purpose it's used for. If it was used in an article on the streamer simply to represent him, it would be inappropriate, but that is certainly not the case here. Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 11:21, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- I don't understand why the PogChamp should be replaced by anything else. No free alternative can justify the critique of what made the original PogChamp emote so popular. What's the guy with purging lips and joyful face done by anyone else? It simply doesn't have that commonplaceness that other popular facial expressions exhibit. - Stuff like the dab or the floss move are used by just about anyone, it's commonplace because it's used as dances that people imitate for the positive connotations. And the floss dance is originated in Fortnite, but the floss dance is so popularly danced by people that a suitable free counterpart can be done. The PogChamp emote is different. You can't replace the PogChamp emote because there just isn't enough commonplace use of free alternatives of the PogChamp emote. Only the original PogChamp emote represents itself. And even if the person is alive, this does not change the fact that the original PogChamp emote itself is the most popular variant of that particular emote with that particular connotation and emotion. - Qwertyxp2000, Not anymore, twitch is rotating replacement emotes. It is most definitely not tied to a single person. https://screenrant.com/twitch-pogchamp-emote-replacement-gootecks-capitol/ Andrew nyrtalkcontribs 19:16, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
- Andrew nyr That is true, at least starting from when Twitch began this swapping of emote stuff. I would still be inclined to use the original, if it weren't for the Twitch changing emote every 24 hours. It would be useful if you or anyone else could take a photo of themselves or their friends of someone doing the PogChamp face. (I know it's getting repetitive of me to keep saying along the lines of "get someone to do the PogChamp face", but this is literally the only way to get a free alternative of the PogChamp emote.) - It's more like no longer tied to a single person. I mean yes, there is use of stuff like the Pepe variants, but any use of other people's faces didn't seem common before the Jan 6th 2021 removal incident. Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 05:28, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- Anyone can do the face, yes, but this best represents the emote in the way a replacement never could. Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 10:10, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
