Marko Stout (born September 27, 1962)[citation needed] is an American artist. His focus is on contemporary art, which blends elements of modern urban life with various themes. His work also integrates luxury and fashion elements.[1]

Early life and education

[edit]

Stout was born on September 27, 1962, in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. He went to Brick Township High School and finished his bachelor's in arts and biology from Rowan University. He acquired medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and later completed his surgical residency at Brooklyn VA Hospital.

Career

[edit]

Stout started his career in 1992 as a podiatric surgeon in Ocean County, New Jersey before relocating to California to focus on his art career. His approach to contemporary art blends elements of modern urban life with several themes. He integrates themes of celebrity culture, nightlife, urban landscapes, and various elements of luxury, fashion, and style in his work.[1][2]

Stout's art comprises vivid color schemes and bold textures, incorporating multimedia elements. He has worked on abstract and figurative paintings, including sculpture, photography, dye techniques, and new media installations.[3]

In 2000, Stout moved to Manhattan to pursue a full-time art career. His exhibited collections include High Society, Glitz and Glamour, Symphony of Opulence, and Erotic Allure. One of his artwork installations was a giant inflatable slide that was installed in Central Park as part of Art Week NYC in 2016. In 2018, Stout debuted his now-signature style of painting at Art Basel Miami Beach.[4] His exhibition Erotic Allure Volume 3 was presented at the Tribeca Gallery in NYC and stood out as the highlight of the NYC fall 2019 art scene.[2][5] Later, in 2022, Stout held a solo exhibition, Infinite Orbs, at Kate Oh Gallery in New York City.[6][4]

His latest collection, Glitz and Glamour, which reimagines Marilyn Monroe, debuted at the Anita Rodgers Gallery in New York City in the Spring of 2024.[7][8][9]
