Asian American presidential candidacy

[edit]

Should presidential candidates get included in the article? Andrew Yang is the first Asian American Democrat Party presidential nominee. Curious who was the first in Republican, I found out it was Hiram Fong. I don't know whether there are other Asian American presidential candidate between 1964 until 2019. Yang isn't the nominee, of course -- at this stage, just another candidate. Other Asian American presidential candidates besides Fong include Patsy Mink and Bobby Jindal. Kamala Harris has Asian ancestry.—Myasuda (talk) 04:15, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First Spouses

[edit]

Not sure where Yumi Hogan could be added, but she is the first Korean American first lady of a U.S. state and the first Asian American first lady of Maryland. Citations can be found in Hogan's article. Note- the First Lady of Maryland is an honorary position. TJMSmith (talk) 02:14, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

State legislators

[edit]

Looks like two Texas state reps are listed in the State offices section. Should state reps be listed? If so, there are a ton more across the country, but it seems like too small of an office. Marquis de Faux (talk) 03:11, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First Asian American governor of the mainland United States

[edit]

George Deukmejian is of Armenian ancestry and was governor of California 1983-1991. He has Gary Locke beat by fourteen years. Shixilun (talk) 10:58, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
