Hello, we are Steve, Dan, and Rehan from Cornell University, editing this article for our Online Communities course.

1. We believe that Chris Smith is an upcoming NBA player and would like expand the information on his page.

2. We would like to change the format of the page by making the following changes:

2a. Adding tables under the sections High School, College, and NBA with his statistics; rather than just listing them in paragraph form.

Don't remove what's in the paragraph, but yes, sure, add tables (but not for NBA, as he hasn't played professional yet). DaHuzyBru (talk) 03:52, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

3. We would like to add a picture to his biographical information on the right side of the page, as well as fact check to make sure that all of his personal information is correct.

Would be great to add a photo, but please be sure it is a free image, otherwise that would be copyright infringement. See this section for help and guidelines. Rikster2 (talk) 12:57, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

4. Expand the information regarding his relationship with his brother J.R. Smith, who is a current Knicks player.

5. Provide an update on Chris’s training camp performance.

6. Provide information about his football career at Lakewood High School.

7. Add more information in his personal section; including family and sports influences.

Dan Spector Numbers 3 and 4

Rehan Sabri Numbers 5, 6, and 7

Feedback from Keith Newman:

Hey guys! I'm a TA for Online Communities here to give you a few pointers.

  • One thing I would highly recommend is to get started early on finding pictures. Take a look at the Wikipedia Image Uploading Guidelines. They have a pretty strict policy about images being public domain. It's definitely possible to get a picture up, but it could take a few weeks of emailing the right people to upload a photo for you, so plan on that taking a while.
  • The great thing about articles like this is that there are a bunch of other, more fleshed out articles that follow a similar format. Check out some other basketball/sports players to get an idea of what sections could be added, how they should be formatted and what sort of information is useful to have.
  • You've already got some community engagement, which is awesome! Definitely take advantage of the help other users can provide! You also may want to try looking into WikiProjects. You could try reaching out to people in WikiProject Biography and can also see if there are other WikiProjects that might fit this article.
  • Start compiling sources sooner rather than later. Even just Googling around and seeing what you can pull up will be helpful both to your project team and to other users who might find them helpful.
Good luck and have fun! KeithJewman (talk) 22:21, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
