Not moved. There is no consensus for the proposed move. bd2412 T 18:22, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Frunze (disambiguation) → Frunze – Please place your rationale for the proposed move here. Rago (talk) 21:40, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- Comment an older version of the disambiguation page exists at the destination. I suggest that the 2004 dab be histmerged onto this one -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 07:47, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
- Comment. @Rago: I think I understand what the rationale is for this proposal, but you should still spell it out in the nomination text as well (it looks that you forgot to replace the boilerplate text that came with the template).—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); November 25, 2014; 13:00 (UTC)
- I have moved (history-merged) the 5 oldest edits of Frunze (these are the disambig edits) to Frunze (disambiguation). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 09:32, 26 November 2014 (UTC)
- Support. If "Frunze" was stlll the name of Bishkek that would perhaps be worth ranking as Primary Topic, but now it's just the name of numerous other smaller places, and also can be a reference to Mikhail Frunze, it's better not to have a primary topic here. 16:01, 29 November 2014 (UTC) + late signature SamuelTheGhost (talk) 15:20, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. Links to Frunze almost all intend to refer to Bishkek at the time when it was still called Frunze. Retain redirect per Danzig and the way this sort of redirect is handled at Wikipedia:Article titles#Treatment of alternative names. Dekimasuよ! 04:21, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose. Bishkek is the primary topic by both criteria. Andrewa (talk) 20:27, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- Support. "Frunze" is equally likely to refer to both Bishkek or to Mikhail Frunze, for whom the city was named. Both are high-profile subjects, hence one can't really be more "primary" than the other.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); December 4, 2014; 21:04 (UTC)

In Ukraine
[edit]There are several places called Frunze in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Wikipedia has a list. Ungoliant MMDCCLXIV (talk) 20:17, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Disambiguation pages are only supposed to contain links to articles which already exist (in the English Wikipedia), or red links which meet WP:DABRL. If you know any Ukrainian entities which meet these criteria, by all means add them to this disambig. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); February 9, 2016; 02:46 (UTC)
- All right. Thanks for the explanation Ungoliant MMDCCLXIV (talk) 14:34, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. Those proposing and supporting this move are the ones "breaking" things and they can fix the dab links, as has always been the accepted practice at RM. Jenks24 (talk) 09:26, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
Frunze (disambiguation) → Frunze – The "Frunze" article currently redirects to Bishkek. So readers searching for Mikhail Frunze or other people named Frunze get redirected to Bishkek, and have to use the dablink at the top to reach the dabpage here. A search for Frunze in scholar.google.com mainly returns results by authors named Frunze, a biography of Mikhail Frunze, and a Frunze street, on page 2. I think this shows the family name is more prominent than the city name. 173.66.5.216 (talk) 00:21, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. If there was a need for Frunze to be a redirect, it should redirect to Mikhail Frunze for whom every single entry at the Frunze (disambiguation) page is named, including the capital city. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 05:24, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom and Roman Spinner. No clear primary topic, and if there is one, it seems like it would be Mikhail Frunze, not the former name of Bishkek. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 18:43, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Support. No clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. When there isn't one, it is guaranteed that the so-called WP:PRIMARYTOPIC will accumulate bad incoming links which are unlikely ever to get found and fixed - and that is a much more serious problem than requiring readers to click a second time to find the article they're looking for. Narky Blert (talk) 21:19, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment. Should the change be agreed, please read and follow WP:FIXDABLINKS before making it. In my experience, fixing the resulting errors will take someone an hour or more to do. You break it – you fix it. It's bad enough trying to keep on top of the 800 or so bad links to DAB pages created every day by inexperienced editors without having to sort out those created by WP:ADMINs... Narky Blert (talk) 01:02, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Comment. I already switched a couple of the links to the city from "Frunze" to "Bishkek|Frunze". Even if this doesn't go through, I hope that helps by cutting out the redirect. 173.66.5.216 (talk) 02:47, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

- Support. I don't think the old name of the city was ever primary. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:57, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
