Corrected category error
[edit]Infobox said that Gert was Cat 1 but really was 2. juan andrés 20:02, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Storm Path
[edit]I think it is better to add this section to the storm path to make it more complete. Momoko
- Tropical depressions are not included in the best track, so that is not easily possible. — jdorje (talk) 03:24, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Though Tropical depressions are not included in the best track, the above preliminary track should have a certain degree of accuracy and worth including. Momoko
- Yea. Hey Nilfanion, wherever you are, could you do this? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 14:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Umm, thats some distance down the priority list. I'll have a go at it eventually but what Jdorje said above is just as true for me: No best track = a pain to make the map.--Nilfanion (talk) 20:07, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yea. Hey Nilfanion, wherever you are, could you do this? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 14:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I've uploaded the complete track, its to the left.--Nilfanion (talk) 19:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. Can we add it to the article now? íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 19:56, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]Rename the page to "Hurricane Gert-Tropical Depression Fourteen-E(1993)" Thanks.--Macman(252) (My edits!!!!!) 19:06, 26 June 2014 (UTC) 7⁄16
- No - there's no point in noting the US Department of Defense designation in the title.Jason Rees (talk) 19:48, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- Furthermore, there is no precedent to doing this. Gert was a hurricane that was later a TD in the EPAC. There aren't many sources online that has the combined title. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:08, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- Why? It was only a TD in the EPAC. YE Pacific Hurricane 21:21, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Lock this article
[edit]This article should be locked if it is featured on the main page lest you want to be reverting vandalism to it all day. --Kuzwa (talk) 03:14, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- The main article of the day is never locked. It goes against the wiki spirit. If anons come to the site, they should be able to do one of the primary aspects of wiki, which is editing. Unfortunately, that means we'll be reverting vandalism for most of the day, but perhaps one of those visitors will decide to join and become Jimmy Wales's successor. You never know :) ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:56, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
Requested move 30 October 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved (non-admin closure) Fuortu (talk) 16:53, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
Hurricane Gert (1993) → Hurricane Gert – Obviously the primary topic. Jdcomix (talk) 14:24, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose malformed request, again that is a dab page. And no not obvious that one Hurricane on that list is automatically more significant than all the others combined. In ictu oculi (talk) 21:10, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Like I have stated on the other pages, this Gert has far more traffic than any other one. Also, why does it matter if it's a dab page? Jdcomix (talk) 14:30, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Because in order to properly move the article, the dab page would have to be moved as well. YE Pacific Hurricane 15:15, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. Analogous to the deadly Tropical Storm Allison which is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of Tropical Storm Allison (disambiguation). —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 22:16, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
